James M. Zammit

 

James is a Certified Public Accountant and Registered Auditor with over 25 years experience in various fields of accounting. After his graduation he specialised in auditing with a big four firm, working with the Malta and Rome and Milan offices where he led international audit teams in domestic and multinational engagements. He held the post of Group Financial Controller with one of Malta's larger groups in the petroleum sector and was involved in several international projects. He also worked as a Trader and Risk Manager in international commodities in Switzerland. Since 2007, he has run his own firm providing audit, accountancy, tax and business advisory services. He specialises in audit and taxation of non-resident clients owning Maltese companies.

James holds a Bachelor Degree in Commerce, a Bachelor degree in Accountancy (Honours) and a Master Degree in Accountancy (University of Malta), a Diploma in VAT Compliance (Association of Tax Technicians - UK) as well as the post graduate Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (Chartered Institute of Taxation - UK). He is a fellow of the Association of International Accountants (UK) and of the Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA), a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the Malta Institute of Management and of the Institute of Financial Service Practitioners (Malta), and was an International Tax Affiliate with the Chartered Institute of Taxation (UK). James holds warrants to act as a Certified Public Accountant and as a Registered Auditor and is also a Certified Fraud Examiner. He is a registered Tax Practitioner, an Authorised Registered Mandatary and was one of the first Maltese auditors to satisfy the MIA quality assurance service provider criteria.
